For those investors that do not have that much, they also offer a 5 year CD with an APY of 3.00%. For this CD, the minimum deposit is $1000. These rates were effective July 9, 2010, and are still current as of July 19, 2010.
A CD within reach of most investors that has a great rate is from Melrose Credit Union. With a minimum deposit of $500, anyone can receive an APY of 3.29% on a 5 year SC. The SC is a shared certificate which is a credit union’s version of a CD.

There are 4 financial institutions that offer a 5 year CD with an APY of 3.00%. These are Salle Mae, Stonebridge Bank, USAA Bank, and Discover Bank. The minimum deposit amounts are $1, $500, $1000, and $2500, respectively.
Each of these financial institutions has online banking services available, if you wish to open an account.
