There are terms ranging from six months to 10 years on a Capital One CD, so there is probably at least one or two CD rates that are right for you.  All of these Capital One CD rates require a minimum deposit of $5,000 and we’ll be measuring them in annual percentage yield (APY).

For the short term, the six month rate is 0.25% APY while the one year Capital One CD rates are 0.75% APY.  That doubles to 1.50% APY for an 18 month term Capital One CD.  Both 2 year and 30-month CD rates are 2.0% APY and 3 year terms are also at 2.0%.

For the longer term certificate of deposit, Capital One CD rates are 2.50% APY for 4 year, 5 year, 7 year, and 10 year terms.  So the length of your Capital One CD after 4 years makes no different to rates.

All Capital One CD accounts are FDIC insured to the fullest extent of the law and these best bank CD rates can change quickly.  So if any of these CD rates at Capital One appeal to you, it’s a good idea to take advantage now.  Capital One is a nationwide bank, so there’s likely a branch near you.  You can open certificate of deposit accounts online as well.
