Best Banking iPhone Apps 2010

Young and older customers are searching for the best banking iPhone apps 2010 in their desire for the most convenient on-the-go banking experience. Although only 13% of bank customers are currently using mobile banking, that number is bound to increase as smartphones are becoming more popular.

Popular banks offering mobile banking services like Chase, Bank of America, Citibank, and Wells Fargo offer this service free for their customers. These banks offer applications for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Blackberry. Depending on a particular bank’s requirement, customers need to be enrolled in the bank’s mobile banking, online banking, or just simply be a customer to use certain features of their app or make transactions with the app.

Citibank boasts three separate mobile apps. One works on the iPhone, the second works on the iPod Touch, Blackberry, and Palm smartphones, and the third works on many kinds of basic cell phones. Many in the know say that separate Citibank apps is on the works for the iPad.

Most of these banks have the same standard functions in their apps. They allow you to access account details and view account balances, review transaction history, and check credit card due dates. They also allow you to transfer funds from one account to another that are within the bank, and pay bills. Each bank also has little “extras” in their respective apps that help you find the nearest branch/ATM location. Citibank’s added “extra” is being able to sign up for a comprehensive text alert system.

Chase’s and Well Fargo’s mobile apps run quickly on the iPhone and are more readable. But Chase’s has a sleeker look that features easy-to-read white text on Chase’s familiar blue background, as compared to Wells Fargo’s. Citibank’s and Bank of America’s have too small fonts for comfortable reading.

Basically, the mobile banking apps offered by popular banks are more the same than they are different. Currently, the iPhone apps still cannot provide you with bank rates. Since all the apps come free and all offer similar benefits, a clear leader in the mobile banking market for the best banking iPhone apps 2010 has not emerged yet.
