Black Friday’s and the use of Online Banking

Black Friday’s and the use of Online Banking is a good sign with an increase in both the number of shoppers going to the stores and the amount each one spent as compared to a year ago.  There was an estimated $11.5 billion spent by the American consumer on Friday. This is up 6.6% from last year. The number of shoppers had also increased by 5.1% to 226 million.

This is the largest increase since 2007 when most of Americans still had jobs and money. Were these increases due to better investing of money or signs the economy, only time will tell. What is now fact is that Americans want to enjoy this Christmas with the giving of gifts.

Online sales also grew by 24.3% to make this the best post recession session so far. With the bank rates steady, near record lows, maybe it is the American consumer once again that will save the economy and not the government. This has also helped the online banks with all the business in handling the debt charges.

It is too early to know if this will trigger better things across the economy with more placing of business hiring, but there is a chance if this trend continues for the next month. This will give the retailers to plan for a better future which just might cause an increase in orders from the factories.

This might sound like a pipe dream, but it is a possibility. America will not stay in a recession forever and every little positive thing will make a contribution to our recovery. The resilience of the American public will shine thru and help us regain our economic footing.
