<p>The best of the online banks again this month with a 6 month CD is from Palladian Bank in Illinois. It is earning an APY of 1.00%. The minimum deposit required to obtain this CD rate is $10,000.</p>
<p>Again in second is the United Orient Bank from New York. They are offering a 6 month CD that is earning an APY of 0.90%. The minimum deposit required to open this account is $500.</p>
<p>Goldwater Bank in Arizona is third again this month with a 6 month CD rate of 0.88% APY. This can be obtained with a minimum deposit of $5,000. They refer to this term as a 180 day CD.</p>
<p>There are three financial institutions that are offering a 6 month CD with an APY of 0.85%. This includes Virtual Bank, One West Bank in California and Stonebridge Bank in Pennsylvania. The minimum deposits required for each of these financial institutions are $10,000, $1,000 and $500 respectively.</p>
<p>AloStar Bank in Texas is the next best 6 month CD rate. This is an APY of 0.76% that requires a minimum deposit of $1,000.</p>
<p>There are 10 financial institutions that are offering a 6 month CD that is earning an APY of 0.75%. This list includes Discover Bank, Mertz Banking Company, First Internet Bank, Doral Bank, Wilshire State Bank, Hudson City Bank, Colorado Federal Savings Bank EastBank, Beal Bank and Ascencia Bank. The minimum deposits required are $2,500, $2,000, $1,000, $1,000, $1,000, $500, $5,000, $2,500, $1,000 and $500 respectively.</p>
<p>New to the list this month is the Stockton National Bank out of Iowa. They are offering a 6month CD that is earning an APY of 0.70% APY. The minimum deposit amount is $1,000.</p>

<p>The best bank rate from the <a href="http://www.onlinebanksblog.com/online-banking-december-2011-5-year-cd-rates-update/">online banks</a> this month is 2.30% APY. This is being offered by Farmington Bank of Connecticut and the First Community Bank of Ohio again along with Washington Federal Bank. The minimum deposit amount is $500, $5,000 and $90,000 respectively. Washington Federal Bank is also offering an APY of 2.25% for deposit amount of $1,000.</p>
<p>The next best rate is 2.25%. While Tompkins Trust Company is still offering this CD rate with a minimum deposit of $1,000, the First National Bank of Kansas  has dropped their rate this month to 2.10% APY with a deposit of $500.</p>
<p>The Corridor State Bank from Iowa is offering a tiered format for their 5 year CD. The rates are 2.16%, 2.21% and 2.31% APY’s for deposit amounts of $1,000, $15,000 and $25,000.</p>
<p>The Ouachita Independent Bank from Louisiana has a 5 year CD rate of 2.15%. This is on a minimum deposit of $1,000.</p>

This is from a new bank to our list which is located in the state of Hawaii. It is the Obana Pacific Bank. This is a promotional rate and requires a minimum deposit of $5,000 to open an account.</p>
<p>From the place of the first presidential caucus is the next best rate. The Bellevue State Bank is now offering a 3 year CD that is earning an APY of 1.75% with a minimum deposit required of $2,500.</p>
<p>Third again this month is Corridor State Bank. They are offering a 3 year CD that is earning an APY of 1.71%. Their minimum deposit is $1,000. For a deposit of $15,000 the bank rate is 1.76% APY and for $25,000 you can earn an APY of 1.86%.</p>
<p>The next best rate is from another financial institution that has maintained their CD rates at a consistent level. This is the Union Center National Bank that is still offering a 3 year CD that is earning an APY of 1.67%. The minimum deposit required is $1,000.</p>
<p>The Doral Bank has a certificate of deposit rate for a 3 year term that is still at 1.65%. The minimum deposit amount is still at $1,000.</p>
<p>The Black River Community Bank has fallen in our list just as their 3 year CD has been reduced. They are now offering a bank rate of 1.61% APY on a 3 year CD. To obtain this CD a minimum deposit of $1,000 must be made to the bank.</p>
<p>The First Community Bank of Ohio and New York Commercial Bank are offering a 3 year CD that is earning an APY of 1.55% APY. The minimum deposit amounts required are $5,000 and $500.</p>

<p>There is a new bank at the top this month for the 2 year CDs. This is EastBank out of New York City. They began as a bank to serve the Asian community, but accept customers from all races. They have a 2 year CD that is earning an APY of 1.40%. The minimum deposit is $2,500.</p>
<p>The second best rate this New Year is also from a new bank to our list. This is the Asian Bank based out of Philadelphia. They have a 2 year CD that is earning an APY of 1.35%. The minimum deposit required to obtain this CD rates is not stated.</p>
<p>The next best rates was number one last month but has since been dropped to number three. This is from Atlas Bank located in New York City that has a 2 year CD which is earning an APY of 1.31%. They require a minimum deposit of $2,500 to open an account and obtain this advertised rate and the deposit must be made in person at one of their branch offices.</p>
<p>The next best rate is 1.30%. This is from a multiple number of financial institutions. This list includes Corridor State Bank in Iowa, American Express Bank and CIT Bank. The minimum deposits required from each of these banks are $1,000, $0 and $1,000.</p>
<p>The Goldwater Bank in Arizona has dropped their 2 year CD rate by 0.01% to 1.29%APY. The minimum deposit required is still $5,000</p>

This 1 year CD is earning an APY of 1.25% with minimum deposit required to obtain this bank rate is $10,000.</p>
<p>The second best CD rates again this month is from The First National Bank of Pawnee<strong>. </strong>Their 1 year CD is earning an APY of 1.21% APY that requires a minimum deposit of $1,000. This rate is only good for the initial term of the CD.</p>
<p>The 1.15% APY from Doral Bank and has remained third on our list this month again. This bank is most often used by their customers with their online service since they are bases out of Puerto Rico. The minimum deposit of $1,000 is required to open an account.</p>
<p>CIT Bank is still in fourth this month. The Achiever 1 year CD is earning an APY of 1.15% that allows for 1 rate increase during the term of the investment. This requires a minimum deposit of $25,000. The fixed term 1 year CD is earning an APY of 1.13% that requires a minimum deposit of $1,000.</p>
<p>Hanna Bank in California has a 1 year internet CD that is earning an APY of 1.11%. The minimum deposit required is $500.</p>
<p>New this month is the CD bank rate from Asia Bank. They are offering a 1 year CD that is earning an APY of 1.10%.</p>

<p>This path for investing your money not as advantageous at it once was. To make your life just a little bit easier, the list below is of the best available CD rates across America for this term.</p>
<p>The best bank rate this month is 2.30% APY. This is being offered by both Farmington Bank of Connecticut and the First Community Bank of Ohio. The minimum deposit amount is $500 and $5,000 respectively.</p>
<p>The second best CD rate again this month is from Black River Country Bank. Their 5 year CD is earning an APY of 2.27%. The minimum deposit required is $1,000.</p>
<p>In third this month is from Charter Bank. They have recently been acquired by Washington Federal Bank in the northwestern portion of the nation. They have a 5 year CD that is earning an APY of 2.25% which requires a minimum deposit amount of $1,000.</p>
<p>There are still two other financial institutions that are offering a 5 year CD with an APY of 2.25%. These include the First National Bank of Kansas and Tompkins Trust Company. The minimum deposit requires at each of these financial institutions to obtain the rate of 2.25% APY are $500 and $1,000.</p>
<p>From the New York City area is the CD rate of 2.10%. This offered by the Geddes Federal Savings and Loan Association has gone down by 0.10% since last month. The minimum deposit amount to obtain this CD rate is $500.</p>

They require a minimum deposit of $2,500 to open an account and obtain this advertised rate and the deposit must be made in person at one of their branch offices.</p>
<p>The next best rate is 1.30%. This is from a multiple number of financial institutions. This list includes Goldwater Bank in Arizona, Corridor State Bank in Iowa, American Express Bank and CIT Bank. The minimum deposits required from each of these banks are $5,000, $1,000, $0 and $1,000.</p>
<p>The next best rates are from new banks to our list this month. This CD rate is 1.26%. These banks include Transportation Alliance Bank, Valley Banks of Montana, Broadway Federal Bank and Black River Country Bank. The minimum deposit for each of these financial institutions is $1,000.</p>
<p>There are two financial institutions that are offering a CD rate of 1.25% on a 2 year fixed rate CD. This list includes Geddes Federal Savings and Loan Association and NewDominion Direct Bank. The minimum deposits required are $500 and $1,000 respectively.</p>
