Chase Bank CD Rates
Chase Bank is one of the largest banks in the United States. They are also one of the best online banks. Due to the number of people who do their banking with Chase, the Online Banks Blog will update this post monthly on the current Chase Bank CD rates. Every month, I will update this post to discuss that months best Chase CD rates.
Overview of the Chase Bank CDs:
Chase Bank offers two types of certificates of deposits – a standard Chase Certificate of Deposit and a Chase Special Certificate of Deposit. The Special CDs are those CDs that Chase is promoting that month. But, in order to purchase a Chase special CD, you need to deposit a minimum of $10,000. But, in exchange for such a high minimum deposit, Chase offers much higher Chase Bank CD rates.
In addition to having two tiers of CDs, Chase also offers the highest Chase CD rates to Chase checking account customers. If you are not a current Chase customer, you will not qualify for the highest Chase CD rates.
December Chase Bank CD Rates:
For the month of December, Chase Bank is promoting its 5 year CD rates (60 month CD rates). The Chase 60 month CD currently has a CD interest rate of 5% APY. These 5% CD interest rates are very good for 5 year CD rates.
The Chase 12 month CD rates are 2.75% APY. I don’t recommend these 12 month Chase CDs. You can get a better interest rate by opening a Dollar Savings Direct Savings Account. Here is my Dollar Savings Direct Savings Account Review. I think that since this savings account pays higher than the Chase Bank CD rates for the 12 month CD, just open a Dollar Savings Direct account.
That being said, the December Chase Bank CD rates on the 60 month CD are very good. If you have $10,000 to invest in a CD, then this might be a good option for you.

Chase’s CD rates aren’t exactly spectacular. You should weigh these rates with rates available through sites like bankrate and moneyaisle.
Dan,
I agree with you that the Chase CD rates are not the best CD rates currently available. However, many people like to buy certificates of deposits from well known banks.
The Online Banks Blog wants to provide information on many different types of banks. With the huge number of people who have Chase bank accounts, I think that it is appropriate to review the Chase rates.
