Chase Bank Text Alerts

With the new Chase Bank text alerts service, you have more banking power at your fingertips. Chase has answered the call of the U.S. government mandating banks to stop automatically enrolling their customers in costly overdraft protection programs. Now, you can avoid overdrafts with the new Chase Instant Action Alerts.

The Chase Instant Action Alerts helps Chase account holders stay updated on their account balance by sending real-time text message alerts to customers when their account balance drops below a preset minimum. It can also be used to perform transactions with Chase.

If your account dips below your preset limit, Chase sends you a text message saying “Chase balance is below $50”, or whatever figure your preset limit is. From there, you can initiate funds transfers by simply texting back transfer instructions: “Transfer $100 from Savings Account”, for instance.

At present, transfers can be initiated only through text message. This would be an ideal and convenient service to use in case you were in an area with no access to a Chase Bank branch or have access to internet to transfer funds.

You can also choose to have your account balance sent to you via text once a day. These daily alerts can help you monitor large transactions, account activity, and account balance. The Chase Instant Action Alerts is free for Chase customers; however, message and data rates from your wireless provider may apply.

Alerts on checking and savings accounts will arrive each morning from Tuesdays through Saturdays, updating you on previous day’s activity. Alerts on credit card accounts will arrive each afternoon from Mondays through Fridays. Phone delivery time will be based on your area code and time zone.

You need to be a Chase checking customer in order to receive Instant Action Alerts. However, the service is not available for Chase Basic Checking accounts. Visit the Chase Bank website for more information about their checking options and their bank rates.

The new Chase Bank text alerts does move the online/mobile banking state-of-the-art up a notch while enabling customers transfer funds in real-time to avoid fees.
