This Citi mtvU Credit Card review looks at the features and benefits this card gives students. The main target group is college students and young first time card holders.

Because the card is directed at students, to obtain the full benefit of this card you must be in a school where grades are being assigned. By maintaining a good GPA, you will receive extra rewards point. There are 2000 points for a 4.0 GPA. For a GPA between 3.9 and 3.5, 750 points are rewarded; for 3.49 to 3.00, there are 500 points rewarded; and for 2.99 to 2.5, there are 250 points given to the card holder’s account. There are 5 points for every $1 that is spent at any food establishment including McDonalds and other fast food restaurants, along with video rentals and movie theaters. For all remaining purchases, there is 1 point per $1 issued.

ThankYou points can be redeemed through the ThankYou network for electronic devices, gift cards, CD music, movie DVDs, and airline tickets. There are also special MTV rewards where tickets to the awards programs are available in limited numbers.

This card has no annual fee and an introductory APR of 0.00 for 6 months on purchases and transfers. After the introductory term passes, the APR is raised in response to the applicant’s credit worthiness. The lowest is 16.24%.

There are many benefits to holding this card, but the Virtual Account Number is new and beneficial to anyone who makes purchases online. This makes it possible to make purchases without giving out your real card number.

There are many benefits to a student to have a Citi mtvU Credit Card. Review of the policy, just like with online banking procedures, is advised.
