This Comerica Online Banking System December, 2012 review, is being done to help explain the options you have in the category of money market accounts at this Dallas, Texas based financial institution. With this information you can then decide if investing your money with them is right for your financial future.

At this time there are two different MMAs available to the general public. The Standard Money Market account is earning an APY of 0.05% on all balances above $1. To open this account requires a minimum deposit of $50. To avoid the monthly service fee of $15 you must have an average daily balance of $5,000 in the account or have a Comerica Platinum Circle account open with the bank with a total deposit amount of $2,500 with the bank.

There is also the Comerica High Yield Money Market account. The MMAs rates are set up in a tiered format. The minimum balance amounts include $1, $15,000 and $50,000. The corresponding APYs are 0.05%, 0.07% and 0.10%. The minimum deposit to open this account is $50. To avoid the monthly service fee of $25, a daily average balance of $15,000 must be maintained in the account.

Both MMAs will give the customers of Comerica bank free access to the Comerica electronic banking services. This is similar to what other online banks have to offer. With this access you can view your account balance, recent transactions and the checks that have been processed by the bank.

You will also have limited access to the electronic money management programs from Comerica Bank. This will include the online bill paying program. The limitation to these programs is only 6 withdraws or payments are permitted each month. If you exceed this limitation a $10 fee will be charged to the account for each occurrence. This limitation is set by US federal regulations.
