There are adjustments with the Coulee Bank Nationwide Checking Account. 3.33% Interest will be the new rate from 4.04% APY. This adjustment is due to the prolonged low interest rate environment as a result of the soft economy.
Coulee Bank intended to keep the yield on Rewards Checking at a level that is competitive and attractive to both local and national customers. Nevertheless, even with the adjustment their yield percentage is still the highest in their region and one of the best nationwide.
The 3.33% APY which is the new rate, will take effect starting February 01, 2010.
Coulee Bank Free Rewards Checking earns 3.33% APY on balances of $0 to $25,000 and for any balances over the $25,000 balance, it will be .51%. To earn this, you need to meet the monthly qualifications: 1) You have to make at least 10 debit card point-of-sale transaction, excluding ATM transactions; 2) you have to receive a monthly electronic statement; 3) you should have one direct deposit or ACH Auto Debit, that is over $1.00.
For Rewards Checking, a “qualification cycle” starts on the last business day of a month and ends on the second to the last business day of the next month. This will allow Coulee bank to calculate and post interest and ATM refunds on the last business day of each month. All requirements must be completed and posted in each qualification cycle to be considered a qualifying account and receive the e-rate for that month. Interest is calculated and paid through the last calendar day of the month. If monthly requirements are not met, then Coulee will pay not less than the minimum rate on your account. There are no monthly fees and no minimum balance to maintain. However, there is a minimum opening deposit of $50 required.
