The Discover Bank Online is from the same financial institution that shook up the financial industry in 1985 when it was introduced by the Sears Corporation. In 2007 it finally became an independent company.
Today this is a totally online service orientated financial institution. Anyone in the United States can have and use a Discover Credit card, debit card or their online services.
Discover has an online savings account that is currently offering an APY of 1.35% on all balances. They are also offering their customers an online money market account with an APY of 1.20% with balances of $10,000 or greater.
There selection of CD’s available online include the 3 month at an APY of 0.70%. The 6 and 9 month CD’s has an APY of 1.10%. The 12 month CD has an APY of 1.50%. The 18 month CD has an APY of 1.60%. The 24 month CD has an APY of 1.85%. The 30 month CD has an APY of 2.00%.
The 36 month CD has an APY of 2.20% The 48 month CD has an APY of 2.40%. The 60 month CD has an APY of 3.00%. The 84 month CD has an APY of 3.25%. The 120 month CD has an APY of 3.50%.
Each of these CD’s requiring a minimum deposit of $2500. All of the stated Bank Rates were posted on August 10, 2010 and were still current as of August 13, 2010.
