First Bank of Delaware
Since we haven’t looked at this bank before, we here at Online Banks Blog will review both the online and regular banking services of the First Bank of Delaware.
Obviously, the First Bank of Delaware is located in Delaware, with branches in Wilmington and a loan office in Lewes. Although relatively new, the bank is a full-service, state-chartered local bank that has so far drawn a lot of attention from locals for no other reason than it’s high customer service profile.
The banking offers, otherwise, are pretty standard with most rates being about the national average or locally average (for CDs and other more competitive accounts). FBD Online offers both personal and business accounts and they do limited loans for various things.
First Bank of Delaware Online is a nicely-built website with good and solid uses for the normal banking customer. There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles for the special needs clients, however, so if you require mobile banking, access to everything at all times with fast money movement, then this is probably not your online bank of choice. Those who treat their online bank like this are usually with larger banks regardless, so for most First Bank of Delaware customers, FBD Online is probably plenty useful.
Overall, the bank has a good rating, offers locally competitive rates, has a good First Bank of Delaware Online system, and is tops in customer service and client care. The bank, of course, is also FDIC insured.
