Hickam Federal Credit Union
From Hawaii, the Hickam Federal Credit Union (HFCU) is a NCUA-insured community credit union headquartered in Honolulu. It has 50,440 members and assets of $382 million. HFCU was established in 1936 and is owned and operated by its members, serving the Ewa District on the island of Oahu.
Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school within the Ewa District is eligible to join HFCU. Immediate family members of any eligible person are also eligible to join the credit union.
Hickam Federal CU offers its members an array of banking products and services. With friendly, professional “Ohana” customer service, HFCU offers a variety of savings programs through savings accounts, checking, certificates of deposit, IRAs, and more.
Making an initial deposit of $25 into a Savings Account allows members to use all credit union services. HFCU Regular Savings earns 0.50% APY. Available to members is the dividend-earning Checking Account which has no minimum balance required to open or maintain, and earns 0.25% APY.
It has unlimited check-writing privileges on available funds. You will also be able to access funds at ATMs and make purchases with the convenient Hoku CheckCard. Dividends are calculated on the daily balance and paid monthly. Savings and Checking rates were posted August 1, 2010.
HFCU certificates of deposit have a $500 minimum opening deposit for terms ranging from 6 months to 3 years. Their regular 36 Month CD currently earns 2.00% APY. Their regular 36 Month IRA has a 2.00% APY. CDs and IRAs are tiered so APYs will depend on the minimum deposit. These rates were posted October 14, 2010.
HFCU also offers Home Equity Line of Credit at a special fixed rate of 4.00% APR, with up to 100% loan-to-value financing. This offer is good through February 29, 2012. Currently, they have an auto loan special rate being offered through November 30, 2010, for as low as 2.99% APR.
These bank rates are still current and effective October 14, 2010 but may change without notice.
