HSBC Savings Account Rates and Review

One of my favorite online banks is HSBC Online Banking.  Due to the recent global economic decline, banks around the world are lowering their savings account interest rates.  But, you can still find some of the best savings accounts rates at HSBC.  The HSBC high interest savings accounts are great ways to start on the road of good personal finance.  This article will provide an HSBC online savings account review and a review of the HSBC savings account rates.

HSBC is an online bank that provides online banking around the world.  They have offices in North American, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.  This global reach gives them a great insight on the needs of online banking customers.

The HSBC savings Account consistently offers some of the best savings account rates.  The HSBC savings account rates are currently 3.00% APY.  This is higher than the ING Direct Orange interest rates, which were just lowered to 2.75%.

But even the HSBC savings interest rates have fallen in the last couple of months.  Earlier in the year, the HSBC high internet savings account had an interest rate of 3.50% APY.  This means that its savings account interest rates have fallen .50%.  Despite the fall, HSBC still has great saving rates and is still one of the best online savings accounts.

But you can’t judge an onlne savings account just by its savings interest rates.  You need to know the required HSBC minimum deposit, minimum balance requirements, hidden fees and whether they are FDIC insured.  Lucky for us, HSBC ranks well for all of these areas.

The HSBC online savings account only has a minimum deposit requirement of $1 to open an account.  And, there is no minimum balance requirement once you have initially opened the HSBC savings account.

We currently think that opening an HSBC account is one of the best money saving ideas to get you started on your financial journey.  If you currently have an HSBC savings account please share your experience with us in the comments below.  Are you satisfied with the HSBC savings account rates?  How is the HSBC customer service?
