Mortgage Rates June 2010

The Mortgage Rates June 2010 will remain steady until the job the report is released later today on June 4, 2010. But a move by the Federal Reserve is still out of the question. The monetary policy of the current administration is to allow banks to loan to themselves and from the Federal Reserve at historically low prices, but home owners are not ineligible.

Since history tells us that mortgage rates rise faster than any possible decline, speculation on such a decline is unwarranted and prospected home owners should not wait for rates to decline any more.

The average rates for the different types of loans that are available in the beginning of the month of June are close to how they were in May. For the nation, the 30 year fixed rate mortgage was at 4.79%. This is up 0.01% from the end of May. The 15 year fixed rate mortgage was down 0.01% to 4.20%.

The one year adjustable rate mortgage was unchanged at 3.95% but the 5/1 adjustable rate mortgage was down by 0.03% to 3.94%.

The 15 FRM is at the lowest mark since 1991. For prospective home buyers, if you can find a financial institution that is actually making loans, this is the time to buy a house.

Because of high unemployment and a glutton of foreclosures that exist, the 30 year FRM is not expected to climb above 5% for the entire month of June. Last year at this time the rate was 5.40% and a steady decline has occurred since for the most part.

Until this recession finally ends and not just the US Government saying it’s over, interest rates will be at or near historic lows. With the Fed Prime bank rates at 3.25% and remaining steady so will the Mortgage Rates June 2010.
