Online Banking Limitations
The online banking limitations have yet to be fully noticed by the American consumer. What they have noticed is they can do nearly everything they need that involves their personal bank activities in the privacy of their home or office.
This includes looking at the latest bank rates, account balances, paying bills, and transfer funds around between their different accounts. You can even apply for a loan via the internet today. The one function that is not very common is the depositing of funds by check via online services.
Today this online deposit of checks is now available by a couple of the large financial giants. The service being offered by CitiBank requires a phone call to one of their representatives for the details, by the overview shows they have a system in place for you to scan your checks and send them in for deposit via the internet.
No matter what time your local branch office closes at, you can still make deposits for that day until 6pm local time. All deposits made after that time will be credited to the next business day. This deposit transmission is protected by a SSL encryption system.
Chase Bank has the same type of set up and it is described in detail. They give those account holders that request it, a scanning device for the purpose of digitally scanning checks for deposit. Their system is called the Chase Quick Deposit.
There can be up to 150 different checks scanned for each deposit and there is no limit on the number of deposits a day you can make. The cut off time for deposits each day is 9 pm ET. The monthly maintenance fee for this service is $50.
The last online banking limitation of depositing and withdrawing cash will probably never happen, but you never know.
