The Sovereign Free Checking Account is a bare bones online checking account that does not earn interest. If you are in need of a free checking account, this account is a good choice. However, the Sovereign Bank Free Checking Account does not earn interest. The Sovereign Interest Checking has a $5 a month charge unless you set up direct deposit. If you don’t want to pay $5 a month (which I don’t ever recommend that you pay for a checking account) and can’t set up direct deposit, the Sovereign Bank Free Checking Account might suit your needs.
The Sovereign Bank online checking accounts come in enough varieties to suit any person’s needs. Sovereign Bank has a large presence in Pennsylvania, but its online internet banking is excellent.
