Visa Black Credit Card Review

This Visa Black Credit Card Review is about a credit card for the select few Americans that can qualify. This card is Barclay’s response to the American Express Centurion card. Both of which have outstanding service features and extras. But the Barclay’s have a lower annual membership fee of only $495 as compared to American Express whose membership is $2500. There is an additional charge with the visa card of $195 every year for each authorized user on the card.

The first thing everyone will notice is what the card is made of. This Barclay Visa Black Card is made of graphite carbon. One of the exclusive benefits of being a card holder is to have a 24 hour concierge service standing by and ready to help you. There is also 1% cash back on all your purchases and an exclusive rewards program. I could not find what this exclusive rewards program was to include except that it was exclusive. For the first 6 months of ownership the card holder will also receive a 0% interest rate on all balance transfers. Every transfer will be charged a service fee of 3%. After 6 months there is an APR of 13.99% on all remaining transferred balances.

For the card holding that travels, there is access to over 500 VIP lounges in airports worldwide. This will get you out of the crowds, but is only available twice a year.

When this card is used to make purchase there is an APR 13.24% that is not fixed on the outstanding balance. If the card holder is late on a payment the APR jumps to 27.24%. There is a 20 day grace period on all purchases.

This card is very hard to qualify for because of the very high standards set. If you do qualify then you will be in a very exclusive club. This Visa Black Credit Card Review has seen many advantages for those that qualify.

  2. The card – I got the offer in the mail, filled out the application and received the card about a week later. Its packaging was very nice and card looks and feels amazing.

The limit – My limit was $10,000 which is hilarious for a card where you’re supposed to have the power to make very large purchases.

The gifts – About a month later I received an engraved multipurpose pen, pencil and stylus.

The concierge service – I called inquire about hotel room reservations in Miami, FL. About 28 hours later I received an email with my options. Thats a long time to wait. I could’ve went on any internet based travel site and got the results in a fraction of the time.

The winner – Barclay’s. Think about it…Barclay’s states only 1% of the U.S. residents (308,899) will be approved for the card, which equates to $152,905,005 (308,899 x $495) in annual fees!

The verdict – The value of this card isn’t worth $495 a year and I will be canceling before the next membership fee is due. Save your money get a basic rewards card with no annual fee and comparable interest rate because the Visa Black Card isn’t worth the money.
