Wal-Mart Paper-Check Fraud Protection
People can now also purchase a Wal-Mart Paper-Check fraud protection when you order your checks from Walmartchecks.com. Online since October 2, 2002, Walmartchecks.com is an online store where you can purchase and print your paper checks from several design types available at the website. It is a convenient alternative when your bank does not allow reordering paper checks online and do not have the time to personally go to a branch.
For personal check printing, you can choose available designs under categories such as Disney Checks, Classic Checks, Scenic Checks, Trendy Checks, Custom Checks, and Eco-Friendly Checks. For business, there are several designs under the categories of Manual Checks and Computer Checks that you can choose from.
Ordering is pretty simple. Payment total will be automatically deducted from your checking account and these Wal-Mart printed checks do not affect the bank rates you enjoy with your bank.
Wal-Mart is also offering a check-fraud protection service called EZ Shield Identity Protection for $1.95 per box of the checks you ordered from them. This service comes from a company with the same name and is a recent spin-off from printed check marketer, Custom Direct (CDI). You will see the product offer through a yellow highlighted box in the middle of the order confirmation screen.
What EZ Shield Identity Protection does is it reimburses its users for fraudulent use of the checks in the box. This “insurance” service provides coverage of up to $25,000 total if one or more of the 200 checks is altered, stolen from the payee and deposited, or used with a forged signature. The EZ Shield logo is printed just below the check number on each and every check to remind users that they are protected.
Although fraud involving paper-checks is not a foremost worry for many, most appreciate the peace of mind they get to enjoy for only under $2.00. Certainly the Wal-Mart Paper-Check fraud protection from EZ Shield may well lift Wal-Mart’s revenue for its checks, but the benefits of the value-add make repeat orders from new and repeat customers more likely.
