Checking Accounts
Right now, the best checking offer for Wells Fargo rates is the Complete Advantage Checking package. This account pays 0.05% interests on balances above $500 and has free checks and cashier’s checks included, but has stipulations such as an attached Wells Fargo mortgage, automatic transfer of at least $75 to a money market account at Wells Fargo, or a total of $5,000 in balances and/or credit at Wells Fargo. If you’re doing your checking at this bank and already qualify, you should definitely switch to this account to get some great rates at Wells Fargo Bank for your efforts.
Savings Accounts
The best Wells Fargo Bank rates for regular savings are in the High Yield Savings account. This offers a 0.15% or 0.65% APY (annual percentage yield) if attached to a checking account. The lower rate is for balances under $25,000 while the higher rate is for balances over that amount.
For money market savings, rates at Wells Fargo Bank are not as high at 0.15% (with attached checking) and there’s no monthly fee if the balance is over $3,500 or there is an automatic transfer into the MMA of at least $75.
Certificates of Deposit
Finally, we come to Wells Fargo rates on certificates of deposit (CD) accounts. These start at 0.15% for a 3 month term and go to 1.90% APY for 27 month terms. These require a minimum balance of $5,000 to open.
